Our client a leading Hostel/Housing organisation, are looking to recruit for this vacancy to start on or before 20th September 2018

Job Purpose

To accurately manage the Purchase and Expense System according to the finance procedure. To ensure that invoices, BACS, DD’s are logged, entered, coded and approved and paid correctly and on time. To process the monthly payroll and ensure the payment of salaries to staff on time and all statutory and personal deductions are paid on time. To prepare the necessary journal to account for the payroll time.

Person Specification 

Knowledge of Sage 200 accounting packages, Knowledge of banking procedures, Knowledge of payroll systems and payroll processing, Knowledge of Credit Control & invoicing procedures

Aptitude

Good written and verbal communication, Good commercial acumen, Positive approach, adaptable to change, Highly accurate with attention to detail, Able to work alone and as part of a wider team, Able to self-manage and prioritise work flow to meet deadlines

Desirable

Good analytical skills, able to assess and evaluate risk

Track record within charity finance

Able to inform and persuade others

Skills 

Computer literate with the Microsoft suite of packages, Good interpersonal skills, able to communicate effectively with a wide range of staff and external  contacts, Able to work to tight monthly deadlines for payroll, Able to influence and negotiate effectively, Strong Excel and spreadsheet skills, Able to solve problems, offer tangible solutions and make recommendations
