Admissions Officer – Hybrid

You’ll work within the University’s admissions team to process applications from foundation through to postgraduate taught level. The role will review and make decisions on international, EU and UK applications. You’ll also assist with confirmation, clearing, CAS preparation and enrolment / registration
Main duties and responsibilities:
- To administer and manage the application process for undergraduate and postgraduate international, EU and UK applicants. This will involve:
- Maintaining the student record system (QLv4) with accurate data for each applicant and maintaining accurate information on all application systems (UCAS web link etc.)
- Checking qualifications to determine offers and applying established academic criteria
- Communicating offers to applicants via UCAS systems and directly, this will include chasing of evidence to fulfil requirements of conditional offers
- Assessing the fee status of applicants
- Liaising with academic departments for processing applications
- Ensuring Declaration forms are completed by applicants and processed by the relevant university department
- Responding and offering advice to applicant enquiries, applicants and offer holders by email, telephone and in person
- Regularly look at weekly applications data to ensure that all applications have been processed and follow up on pending decisions
- Producing reports for management and programme convenors on application statistics and recruitment numbers
- Confirmation and Clearing
- To assist in the delivery of confirmation and clearing exercises
- To offer advice and guidance to enquirers and applicants during clearing
- To advise clearing staff on qualifications and suitability of applicants during clearing
- CAS preparation and administration
- To prepare student records for those students requiring visas
- Checking of student documents through the Enroly CAS Shield portal
- Liaison with the Compliance Team to ensure a timely and smooth transition to CAS Issuance
- Registration
- To prepare records for enrolment
- To liaise with registry on the registration of applicants
Requirements
- Degree or equivalent qualification
- Previous experience working in HE – ideally in a similar role
- Knowledge of all qualifications and levels – both UK and International
- Knowledge of fee assessment frameworks and visa requirements
- Strong IT skills with experience using MIS (management information systems)
You will need a DBS within 12 months or on the update.
