CHEMICAL TECHNICIAN / WAREHOUSE SUPERVISOR
2 MONTH CONTRACT MINIMUM WITH THE POTENTIAL FOR LONGER TERM/PERMANENT WORK
THE WIRRAL
HOURLY RATE EQUIVALENT TO AN ANNUAL SALARY OF £30,000 PER ANNUM – Hours of work 9-5 Monday -Friday
Our client is looking for an experienced chemical technician with warehouse experience for a location on the Wirral. This role is temporary and requires an immediate start.
JOB PURPOSE:
To maintain warehouse and stock levels to manage the preparation of chemicals ready for dispatch.
MAIN DUTIES
Stock control
- To operate the stock control system in accordance with the Company’s stock control procedures manual, and to ensure regular computer back-ups are taken
- To arrange the ordering of the required Raw Materials, Drums, Labels and Finished products from the designated supplier.
- Ensure a sufficient stock of pallets are available for onward delivery of goods
- To receive and check incoming deliveries of chemical.
- To provide all customers with the Safety Data Sheets for all products shipped in a timely manner and keep records.
- To ensure delivery drivers have sufficient and correct paperwork, as well as safety information to carry out deliveries correctly.
- To manage stock levels so that sufficient product is held in all Rock stores for delivery to clients as required.
- To ensure periodic stock checks are carried out.
- To maintain records of all stock movements.
Warehouse
- To maintain the warehouse in a clean and tidy condition
- Ensure safety showers are maintained and flushed weekly
- Ensure goods out are safely stacked and wrapped on pallets
- Oversee delivery notes are correctly prepared
- Complete daily forklift truck checks are undertaken and recorded
Chemical Manufacture
- To manufacture the chemical following the up-to-date version of the manufacturing work instructions.
- Creation of ‘Bill of Materials’ for newly manufactured batches
- Ensure correct calibration of scales
- Ensure gas cylinders are in stock for counterbalance truck
PERSON SPECIFICATION
The ideal candidate should have:
- Forklift Licence (Counterbalance & Reach Truck)
- COSHH
- GCSE or equivalent in Maths & English
- Experience of Stock control
- Warehouse management experience
