Our client is a charity in South Yorkshire dedicated to supporting young people, particularly the vulnerable, to achieve their full potential in learning, employment and life.
They are looking for a part time, qualified IAG / Careers Adviser to deliver careers advice in a school in North Sheffield one day per week (ideally Tuesday and Wednesday but this can be discussed) on a temporary basis between September 2022 and August 2023, term time only.
About
As an IAG Adviser you will provide careers guidance services, including information and advice, to young people to equip them to make successful transitions in learning and work. This role includes identifying and assessing young people’s needs in relation to career decision making and providing careers guidance services individually and in group settings. Advising on and supporting applications of Year 11 young people using the Sheffield Progress online system and providing information and advice for parents and carers are also key responsibilities of this role.
Requirements
- Level 6 qualification in advice and guidance is essential!
- Relevant experience of motivating, mentoring and guiding young people ages 11-18 in relation to providing the most appropriate careers advice and of co-ordinating CEIAG in secondary schools and/or FE Colleges, including work on an individual basis or in groups / classroom settings.
- Experience in designing and delivering workshops
- An understanding of client referral to appropriate services and significant experience of safeguarding and child protection issues is also essential.
You must have a DBS within 12 months or on the update.
