Our client, a leading provider of FE services in London is seeking a Nurse Education Development Specialist to provide high quality specialist knowledge to facilitate the development of the Level 5 Nursing Associate Foundation Degree (FD) in preparation for delivery in September 2019.

£40,250 – £45,000 Permanent plus excellent staff benefits

Objectives of the Post:

• To lead on the development and support the full delivery of the level 5 Nursing Associate Foundation Degree (FD)
• To work in partnership with local, regional and supra-regional Healthcare partners
• To develop a sustainable relationship with the College and discipline specialist Higher Education providers to secure accreditation for delivery.
• To advise on sourcing of appropriately qualified and experienced curriculum development practitioners
• To oversee the development of relevant module content and associated assessment tasks
• To oversee and quality assure the development of relevant curriculum documentation including module guides, resources and student handbooks
• To co-ordinate validation events
• To be responsible for gathering all monitoring and funding information in a timely manner to meet funding requirements
• To establish and monitor relevant quality systems to ensure high quality programme development and delivery
• To establish timelines for the project delivery and ensure these are adhered to in accordance with HEFCE’s regulations
• To write reports and submit to HEFCE and validating bodies as required
• To ensure that all project paperwork is accurate and compliant
• To ensure all audit requirements are fully met and HEFCE-compliant
• To work closely with the Marketing team to ensure the required events, marketing and communications strategy is in place to support recruitment to the programme

Duties and Responsibilities:

The person appointed will be required to work flexibly within a team environment and will be allocated a range of duties and responsibilities.

• Develop and maintain detailed project plans
• Manage project deliverables
• Oversee quality outputs within the projects
• Monitor and report on project progress and performance
• Ensure that HEFCE and Open University requirements are met
• Implement appropriate processes and procedures whilst maintaining audit compliance
• Support colleagues in working closely with the Marketing team to ensure the required marketing and communications strategy is in place to recruit to the programme
• Be responsible for administrative tasks e.g. arranging meetings, preparing and circulating documents, liaising with the finance teams at the college and HEFCE
• Be the main point of contact for co-ordinating activities for the projects
• Contribute to the planning, implementation and recruitment of the project and assisting with events and workshops/seminars
• Maintain the project database ensuring that the correct paperwork relating to all project activities is completed and provided to the finance and monitoring team for claim, appraisal and auditing purposes
• Implement quality assurance procedures and undertake quality control checks relating to project criteria
• Assist in maintenance of, and compliance with, all College systems
Person Specification: Nurse Education Development Specialist
The College wishes to appoint highly skilled and committed specialist to oversee the development of the Nursing Associate Foundation Degree.
Evidence of the following will be looked for during appointment.
• Educated to degree level and relevant experience
• To hold current registration as a Nurse Practitioner with the RCN


• Recent clinical experience (can come from a range of settings)
• Project Leadership
• Experience in the entry level education of Nursing professionals / paraprofessionals
• Maintaining accurate records
• Managing teams
• Developing and maintaining quality systems and procedures
• Providing management control information
• Working on own initiative and producing information in a timely manner
• Good IT skills with a working knowledge of Microsoft products


• Knowledge of the Nursing Associate role
• Knowledge of developing formal training programmes leading to accreditation
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail
• Ability to plan and work proactively in a team to achieve project objectives
